Norton Internet Security and Money Stock Price Downloads

There have been reports that when Norton Internet Security is installed, Money quotes don't download into Money. Disabling NIS works for some, but not all. Money sits at the window saying 'updating' but never dies.

Users have posted that disabling NIS allows it to work, but not all. One user posted that it might be necessary to set the Norton Internet Security software to the defaults to allow it reset the firewall, clear manual settings and reset the permissions.

Alternatively, the following sequence has been reported to work for NIS 2004:

1. Go to the NIS control panel
2. Click on Privacy Control
3. Bottom right click Configure
4. Click Advanced
5. Scroll down to msn.com
6. Click msn.com
7. Click Add Site
8. Type in go.msn.com (this should add it under the msn.com list)
9. Click on go.msn.com
10. Click on Ad Blocking tab
11. Click Add
12. Select Permit and type in /ad
13. Click OK
14. Click OK
15. Exit NIS Control Panel
16. Cross Fingers
17. Try Money
