rw?.tmp files on removable backups in Money 2005

When you save a backup file to removable media, such as a zip disk or floppy with Microsoft Money 2005, these files are created on the media, with zero length. They are not removed by Money.

This is a bug with Microsoft Money 2005. It is, however, safe to remove these files.

This problem is fixed in Money 2006. Money 2006 also provides the ability to backup to other devices such as CDs and network drives. See FAQ Article 212 on 2006 backups.
